Student Pastor Jacob Carr begins the New Year by exploring John 1, where the Creator became flesh to offer us "grace upon grace". Drawing from the ministry of John the Baptist in Matthew 3, Jacob defines repentance as a "one-eighty" turn away from sin to "make straight the path of the Lord". He challenges listeners to "choose your fire": either the painful but life-giving purification of the Holy Spirit or the unquenchable fire of judgment. Ultimately, the "highway" of life is cleared not by our own effort, but through surrendering the roadblocks God points out so that He can remove them by His power.
