In Let It Go, we explore Matthew 11:25–30 and discover that Jesus’ invitation to rest is more than comfort—it’s the call to lay down self-reliance and embrace His grace.
This week in Upside Down Living, we continue learning what it means to live the way of Jesus. In “Let It Go,” we look at Matthew 11:25–30—a passage many know as Jesus’ invitation to the weary and burdened. But when read in context, it’s more than encouragement for hard days. Jesus was speaking to people worn out by religious rules and the endless pressure to be “good enough.” He exposed the emptiness of self-righteous striving and offered something radically different: Himself. True rest is not found in working harder or carrying heavier loads, but in surrendering to Jesus and taking on His yoke. This message challenges us to stop striving for salvation through effort and instead find freedom, peace, and rest in Christ. Whether it’s the first surrender of faith or the daily letting go of self-reliance, Jesus invites us to lay down our burdens and walk with Him.
